5576: Romeo and Indi's future isn't looking good

Any chance for reconciliation in Romeo and Indi's marriage is made unsteady by the outside forces of Liam and Ruby, who are halting their progress. An outsider, Ruby struggles to keep any semblance of control in her relationship with Romeo. Despite consistently being told to butt out by Romeo, she can't help but ineffectually berate Indi. This is a symptom of a greater problem, though - Ruby feels unloved and unwanted in Summer Bay.

Liam, on the other hand, is not at all trying to stand in the way of Romeo and Indi patching it up. However, a conflicted and vulnerable Indi can't help but lean on him when he offers a simple, fun release from the everyday pressures of her tangled emotional life. Romeo has specifically told Liam to leave their marriage well alone, but that isn't easy when Indi and Liam work together.

After what has been a distressing day for Indi, Liam offers friendly support after work. Indi, in her state, thinks this is the right time to kiss him.

Meanwhile, Harvey has put Roo in a sour and unexplained mood after he suggested they try to make a baby together. At the house, he spends the rest of the day trying to figure out exactly where he stepped wrong and why Roo is so upset by the idea. Marilyn calls Harvey out on his insensitivity - Roo must be worried about the complications of a mature age pregnancy.

As it turns out, Marilyn was wrong - the bad memories of giving birth to Martha stop Roo from wanting to go through it all again - instead she wants to give a chance to other abandoned children. However, Harvey's heart was in the right place - all he thought was that he and Roo would be perfect parents, and even more perfect if they were married. Harvey then blurts out a marriage proposal.
