5596: Casey prepares for the worst

When Casey learns that Brax and Natalie have decided to stop seeing each other for his sake, he becomes furious that his problems are affecting everyone he cares about. In an attempt to tie up loose ends, Casey tells Natalie and Brax that they need to focus on their futures and not his.

Later, Casey informs Gina that he doesn't intend to finish his HSC, prompting Gina to voice her concern that maybe Casey is planning on hurting himself. Brax confronts him about this, and Casey promises that isn't what he is planning. After repeated attempts by Sasha to cheer up Casey, he tells her that he knows he is going to gaol for the rest of his life, and he needs to start preparing for that.

Meanwhile, Leah is feeling a little jealous of Natalie and Brax's relationship, but realises that this could be a chance for Brax to be happy again. She tells Natalie not to let his family get in the way of something potentially special.

Elsewhere, still trying to cheer up a disheartened Gina, John decides to surprise her with a special lunch and gift. However, when she doesn't show up, John is furious that she keeps shutting him down. In the meantime, Jett and Richard show up and ask if Gina would be happy letting Jett live with her again. She is over the moon, and when John comes in to berate her about skipping their date, he is happy to learn that Jett will be staying with them again.
