
When Gina is being shown around the school by Bartlett, she admonishes Xavier when she finds him out of class with Ruby, which he feels proves his point that she'll be harsher on him than anyone else. Later at the Diner, Gina tries to reason with Xavier, she knows it won't be easy, but she's going to be Principal and the can't be fighting all the time. He agrees to be supportive, albeit reluctantly.
Ruby is keeping Charlie company, but is worried about her mood after the break-up with Angelo. She's come up with an idea to help her, but she needs Xavier's help to make it work. But Xavier thinks the idea is indeed crazy and doesn't think it will work. He doesn't want to go along with it, but Ruby begs him, and he eventually submits. They go to the Police Station and submit a statement they're fabricating an alibi for Charlie.
When Robertson finds out, he brings the two of them back in for an interview, but even after he grills them, they stick to their story. Robertson is forced to accept the alibi and re-instate Charlie.
After her break-up with Angelo, Charlie is very down, and coupled with her suspension from her job, she's lost. Angelo tries to reach out to her, but she refuses to take his calls. Morag, aware of Charlie's mood, advises him to keep his distance. But Angelo can't, and he eventually gets through to her, he tells her he misses her and wishes he could make it okay, but she can't listen to him, and hangs up on him.
When Charlie finds out about Ruby's plan, she's worried, and hopes she's not lying. But when Ruby's story holds up and Robertson tells Charlie she's re-instated, Charlie is pleased, but also worried, as she knows it means working with Angelo again.
