Emma Davies to guest in 'Doctors'
Former Emmerdale actress Emma Davies will make a guest appearance alongside her real-life father in an episode of Doctors.

The 39-year-old - who played Dales vixen Anna de Souza for six months until she bowed out of the serial at the end of last year - is to take on the role of an English lecturer called Lorna Myers.

Ironically, her actual father Geoffrey Davies portrays her screen dad Charlie Myers in a storyline which sees the characters' strained relationship put to the test.

Covered in blood, Charlie is found wondering the streets by Mill doctor Daniel Granger (Matthew Chambers) and puzzled as to what's happened, Daniel begins his search for Charlie's family.

Daniel finally tracks down his daughter, and it soon becomes apparent that she's still furious with Charlie for abandoning his family for a life with his mistress.

Producer Ella Kelly told DS: "It's great to have Emma Davies on the show but we're doubly delighted as she's playing against her real life father, Geoffrey Davies. It's a poignant story with a surprising end, touchingly played by both these lovely actors."

The episode, entitled 'Toys', is due to air on Monday, July 27 on BBC One. Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
