Another ex-Corrie actor for 'Doctors' role

ITV

Ex-Coronation Street actor Matthew Crompton is to make a guest appearance on Doctors.

The 37-year-old, who played bookie Dan Mason for almost a year before being axed, will take on the role of an infertile husband called Leo Richards.

Acting strangely around her husband, Brigit (Jane Slavin) slopes off to work, claiming that she has to be in early for retraining. After leaving work early, she heads to The Mill, where Zara (Elisabeth Dermot Walsh) confirms that she is eight weeks pregnant.

When Leo later discovers Brigit's news, he races to The Mill and demands to know who the father is as he is infertile.

As the truth about Brigit's one-night stand in Milan is revealed, the couple are faced with a tough choice over whether to have a termination or have the baby together.

Crompton's episode, titled 'In the Cold Hard Light of Day', will air on Friday, August 21 at 1.45pm on BBC One.

Last week, it was announced that former Coronation Street actor Ian Reddington (Vernon Tomlin) is to make a guest appearance at the beginning of October.
