The actress, who plays fan favourite Zara Carmichael on the BBC daytime soap, announced the news on This Morning today (April 24).
Doctors fans saw Zara welcome the arrival of a baby boy two months ago, while in real life Dermot Walsh is due to give birth in May.
She said today: "In two weeks' time, with a bit of luck, I'm having my own baby. The most fun was when it was really secret and I was pregnant as Zara and pregnant as Elisabeth, but out of sync!
"I had to do all the labour scenes when I hadn't told anyone at work yet that I was actually pregnant. So that was dramatic!"
Dermot Walsh also praised the way Zara and Daniel Granger's (Matthew Chambers) IVF storyline was handled on Doctors last year.
She commented: "It was, I think, very well done. It was very difficult for them and it didn't work the first time, which is nice and realistic. People go into this sometimes thinking that it's just a miracle, but sometimes it's a struggle for people to make that work.
"And now they have their beautiful baby, it's not a happily ever after at all. They're really both struggling as parents and I think they feel guilty that they're not more grateful that it worked!"
Doctors airs weekdays at 1.45pm on BBC One.
