The 37-year-old actress - who played Curly Watt's (Kevin Kennedy) wife Emma Watts in the Weatherfield soap and Sun Hill's Helen Coles will play Detective Inspector Eva Moore, a sassy and ambitious woman who is keen to make her mark in the male-dominated world of policing.
Eva, a fresh face at Letherbridge police station, is thrown in at the deep end when a potentially fatal strain of cannabis finds its way onto the streets of the fictional Midlands suburb. Luckily, police surgeon Doctor Jimmi Clay (Adrian Lewis Morgan) is on-hand to alleviate the pressures of the case - in more ways than one!
Speaking of her new role, Angela exclusively told DS: "I'm absolutely delighted to be on board with a great show like Doctors. Eva is a really fantastic character to play; a feisty northerner in leather boots, a regular Angelina Geordie! Hopefully the audience will take to her as much as I already have."
Producer Peter Bullock commented: "Angela is proving to be a real hit with cast and crew already. Its great to have such a talented, committed and fun person around on set, traits that she is bringing in spades to her on-screen character. We think Eva is going to be an audience favourite."
Angela wife of EastEnders' star Perry Fenwick (Billy Mitchell) will first appear on screen on Thursday, October 18 and will remain with the show for the rest of the current series, taking her well into the new year.
