
Lily astutely comments that the prospect of him being responsible for someone else for the rest of his life must be terrifying, but Daniel tries to ignore this stating that it could also be an old girlfriend who’s got a grudge. He tries to palm Izzie off on Lily but she’s having none of it, she thinks it’s going to be interesting to watch Daniel attempt to handle this on his own. However, Izzie doesn’t stop screaming and Daniel and Lily are as hopeless as one another, trying everything they can think of to hush Isobel.
Lily shows it her fossil collection and Daniel makes a mobile out of his designer ties, but it still she cries. Isobel finally has an exploding nappy moment and Daniel has to go out and get a few emergency supplies. Daniel leaves Izzie with Lily and relishes the peace and quiet of a coffee shop but is quick to get shopping when Lily informs him that she has been using his designer T-shirts as makeshift nappies!
He doesn’t have the first clue what to buy but he finally returns having bought half the shop. Lily battles to change the nappy as Daniel purees some carrots, but Lily discovers that he hadn’t cooked them first. He doesn’t have a clue what he is doing! With talc and smelly nappies everywhere, Lily finally retires to relax and have a bath.
She returns downstairs and much to her surprise the place is still a bombsite, but she discovers Daniel collapsed on the sofa with Isobel nuzzled into his Daniel’s neck. Daniel is stuck in an excruciatingly uncomfortable position on the sofa but he dare not move a muscle in case the screaming starts again – it’s obvious he isn’t going to get a wink of sleep. He is left forced with the thought that he might be the father and Isobel could be a regular feature in his life. HOOK
(See story of the day) Archie has gone for an ‘after work drink’ with Michelle and is aimlessly trying to phone Kirsten, but he can’t get hold of her. Michelle winds him up telling him that she is playing hard to get. They witness Julia helping out her old friend find out if her potential fiancé can be trusted.
Meanwhile, It starts out to be a normal day for Julia; that is until Anne Marie Cavndish (53) arrives on the scene. Both women have one thing in common; previous husbands that have run off with other women. Having been burnt from her cradle of love previously, Anne Marie won’t be scolded twice.
Anne Marie informs Julia of her new flame, but she wants to secure in her mind that he can’t be led astray. Her fiancé Graeme Truscott (52) is a good looking man that stands out from the crowd, but she wants’ to make sure that his offer of marriage is set in stone. Unbeknownst to Julia, she has a plan that will confirm her worries either way, and it comes by the name of Julia!
Anne Maria wants Julia to play the ‘honey trap’ and at first she reluctantly agrees, but when she is reminded of the scorn that Mac put on her all those years ago, she’s happy to play along! Julia takes to the bar and sweetens up her target, but she is completely unaware that she is talking to the wrong guy!
Alan Baintree (55) flirts with her accordingly and Julia leaves him perched on his seat, dumbfounded as to why she blew him out so quickly. Archie and Michelle are having an ‘after work drink’ and Julia moves from Alan to see them. Michelle already knows what she is up to and as she explains the outcome they discuss how he could be so meaningless treating Anne Marie like that. Michelle asks Julia how she is going to tell her but Anne Marie arrives, and judging by the look on her face, she already knows the answer.
Julia informs Anne Marie that he was more than happy to play the field so Anne Marie confronts her husband, but then Julia realises she had apprehended the wrong man when she watches her walk up to a different man. Graeme doesn’t know what she is talking about, but when Julia informs her that she was with Alan, Anne Marie is left to explain herself to Greame, who eventually openheartedly expresses his true feelings for her.
Julia pitifully joins Alan and apologises for her behaviour. He may just have turned out to be the perfect date. She takes up his earlier offer of dinner, but when Greame identifies him as a married friend from his gold club, Julia ridicules him and leaves. Anne Marie stands next to Graeme as Julia pitifully leaves the bar and asks her to not tell a soul about what happened tonight!
