'A Life In Pictures'

Heston arrives at the Mill in a very good mood. He carries a bunch of roses but claims they are for him. Entering Lily’s room he gives her the roses; she thanks him with a kiss but asks that he doesn’t tell anyone else about them. In the staff room Heston is shocked that George knows something is going on between him and Lily. George is thus sworn to secrecy. When emailing Heston a report, Lily deliberates how many kisses to put at the end. Lily goes to see him, desperate for the email - with one kiss on the end - to be deleted before anyone else sees it.

Later, Julia confronts Heston about him and Lily. Startled that she knows as well he swears her to secrecy also. Initially beside herself at the thought of Julia and George knowing her business Lily shouts at Heston. But they both manage to laugh at the situation and kiss. Lily admits that she would rather spend time with Heston than go to the conference she has planned for the evening.

George talks about her plans to explain the move to China to Bracken. At home George and Ronnie sit down with Bracken and tell her about the move, but she doesn’t seem to understand. This makes them wonder if they are doing the right thing.

Vivien is preoccupied. Seeing her in the staff room Heston tries to apologise for trying to set her up with Lionel. Vivien is at least glad Lionel didn’t see her. Heston promises never to interfere in her affairs again. Heston tries to give Vivien an African violet as a peace offering. Karen thinks African violets are boring little flowers, lasting forever but no one notices them. Vivien thinks that describes her and wonders if that was Heston’s intention with the gift.

Later on, the patio Heston finds Vivien crying whilst thinking about the past with Lionel. It has made her realise what she has lost, referring to how the rape has changed her. She asks to be alone, convinced that she and Lionel can never be together.

Meanwhile, Kevin Pewell (22) is filming Becky Cameron (20) on a muddy sports field. Her mobile rings. After ending the take Kevin accidently spills coffee on Becky. Outside the campus surgery they approach Jimmi; they want to use the surgery as a set. Once offered a part Michelle had said it would be ok. Meanwhile, inside Michelle is practising her Oscar acceptance speech. They let the filming take place but Jimmi doesn’t seem to think it’s a good idea. Michelle criticises Kevin’s artistic vision due to its lack of realism regarding pregnancy testing; she attempts the scene four times. Kevin is so exasperated by her performance he gives up.

When loud music from the filming disturbs Jimmi’s consultation he throws Kevin and Becky out of the surgery. Again Becky’s phone rings. When Kevin asks who is ringing she lies and says it’s her mum but she looks disappointed that the lie works.

Later whilst filming on campus Kevin gets very close to a flight of steps, unaware of them he falls down them, landing on his hands and knees. They return to the surgery to be examined by Jimmi. Kevin sends Becky away, not wanting her to wait for him. Her phone rings again.

In Jimmi’s room Kevin asks to turn the lights on full but afterwards still bumps into the patient’s chair. Jimmi seems concerned and checks his peripheral vision and his eyes. Jimmi says Kevin needs further eye tests at a hospital because he thinks he might have retinitis pigmentosa, a condition that could lead to blindness. Kevin does not seem to grasp the seriousness of the condition and just wants to get back to filming. Jimmi has to leave as someone has fainted so Kevin sneaks out.

At the fountain on campus Kevin wants Becky to dive in. Looking at the cold, dirty water she refuses. Matt O’Malley (20) arrives and kisses Becky, asking if she got his texts. Kevin is devastated to discover Becky is Matt’s girlfriend.

Back in the consultation room, Jimmi discovers Kevin has gone and so heads out to find him. Becky tries to placate Kevin, telling him she isn’t in a relationship with Matt after all. Angry, she tells him the film is terrible. Devastated Kevin walks away but trips over a camera case. Matt tries to help him up but Kevin throws a wild punch that by chance knocks Matt over. Kevin walks away in tears. Jimmi arrives and he and Becky go to Kevin’s room to find him.

Kevin is not there though and they go to the sports field. Mid conversation Becky realises that something is wrong with Kevin’s eyes. On the field Jimmi sits next to Kevin and discovers he already knew about his condition and therefore didn’t think it would be fair to ask Becky out.

Jimmi talks to Kevin about the support options that are available. Kevin is suddenly enthused at the thought of making an autobiographical film about his condition. He quickly becomes absorbed in his new project and has new hope for a relationship with Becky.
