'One For The Road'
At the Mill Daniel is showing out a stunningly beautiful patient and Lily watches on with amusement as he tries his hardest not to admire the patient’s bum. Cherry enters and Daniel gazes at her dreamily. Lily catches his eye and asks him to join her for lunch.

Cherry seems uncomfortable around Heston and later tells Karen that she thinks he likes her but Karen tells her Heston is with Lily. Karen then says that she thinks there is something that doesn’t quite add up about Daniel due to him living in Lily’s spare room and having a baby he hardly ever sees. They end up talking about heart disease and Karen asks Cherry for a leaflet to give to Rob, her husband. Later, reading the leaflet, Karen is panicking at the prospect of such illnesses.

At lunch Daniel and Lily bump into Hannah but she is waiting for her boyfriend so they sit separately. Daniel tells Lily he is finding giving up women harder than he thought it would be. He plans to try and take his mind off it by playing squash with a friend that evening. Later Lily tells Heston they will have the house to themselves. In the evening Lily has cooked dinner and Heston brings a bottle of wine. Daniel decides to head home after everything with Hannah and cancels his plans for the evening. Entering Lily’s house he is deafened by classical music. Opening the kitchen door he sees Heston and Lily being very intimate! Cringing Daniel apologies and retreats swiftly, leaving Lily and Heston mortified.

At Beeches House, Ruth is staring at her now flowering orchid. When Trudy comes in Ruth asks if she will ever be normal and, after Trudy’s reassurance, seems more optimistic. Later Ruth is anxious that her medication is not working because she doesn’t feel any different and she asks Trudy when Michelle will visit her. In the evening Ruth is pacing her room feverishly. Ruth vomits, which Trudy says is a reaction to the medication. She suggests that Ruth writes her feelings down and we see her beginning a letter to Michelle.

Meanwhile, In bed in the morning Hannah Gilbert (26) smiles at Rob McNabb (32) as he lies sleeping next to her. He wakes and gives her a passionate kiss. He then gets a text message and is alarmed to discover that his wife Sandy McNabb (40) is on her way home. He jumps out of bed and starts dressing. Later they are on the driveway about to leave for work. Rob jumps away from Hannah as a taxi pulls up and Sandy gets out. Rob pretends Hannah was just dropping off some paperwork and helps Sandy get Ellie (18 months) out of the taxi. Hannah then leaves and Sandy seems suspicious.

At home in her flat Hannah is getting ready when she realises that she hasn’t taken her contraceptive pill for the last three days. Dismayed she rings work to tell them she doesn’t feel well and so won’t be coming in. Later she goes to the surgery and has to see her old friend Daniel because she can’t get an appointment with Melody. She is embarrassed to ask for the morning after pill. She tells him she has a boyfriend. Noticing that she seems a bit run down Daniel insists on giving her a proper check up.

As Hannah leaves she literally bumps into Sandy in reception. Sandy notes Hannah’s change of clothing. Hannah leaves quickly as she receives a text from Rob who says he is worried about her. Sandy goes in to see Daniel. She is pregnant but tells Daniel that she hasn’t told her husband yet because she suspects he is having an affair.

Rob meets Hannah for lunch in the Icon Bar (Lily and Daniel are sat nearby) and promises to tell Sandy about their affair that night. When Lily leaves Daniel joins them for a drink and notices Rob’s wedding ring. Hannah is getting drunk and when Rob moves away to take a phone call Daniel asks Hannah what she is doing with a married man. When Rob returns Daniel suggests he takes Hannah home. However, Rob has to go straight home so he leaves Hannah to get a taxi but she heads for her own car. Daniel is watching and intercepts; he takes her keys off her and calls her a taxi.

At home Sandy tells Rob she is pregnant. Rob seems to doubt the pregnancy is an accident. He storms out saying he is not sure he wants another child and Sandy is left alone crying.

When Hannah gets home she finds a bottle of wine and, crying, starts drinking it. Later Daniel arrives to return her car keys. He worries that she has a drinking problem. Angrily Hannah denies it and starts pouring all the alcohol in the flat down the sink. However she quickly cracks and gives into his suggestion that she has a dependency on drink. Daniel tells her she needs to stop seeing Rob because he thinks Rob is just using her to get out of a bad marriage. The doorbell rings and it is Rob.

Meanwhile Sandy rings Rob’s mobile and gets his voicemail. She then rings her neighbour to ask her to babysit and goes round to Hannah’s flat. Daniel and Sandy are surprised to see each other. Sandy makes Rob tell Hannah about the pregnancy. Sandy decides to end the marriage and keep the new baby. Hannah also ends her relationship with Rob. Daniel arranges to go with Hannah to her first AA meeting.
