'Clubbing Together'

Karen mentions to Jimmi about a woman who has cured her OCD by Immersion and exposure Therapy. Everyone has had a stressful day and Michelle, Jimmi and Cherry all agree on a night on the town. Karen confides in Julia that she is missing Rob. Cherry sees how fed up they both look and invites them out with the rest of them.

Jimmi and Michelle meet in the queue to the club and in the background we see Maria Cristea (14) arrive and head inside. Julia and Karen are checking in their coats when Maria passes them with a much older guy. A good looking man (Dave) smiles at Julia as he passes her.

Cherry arrives looking gorgeous but Jimmi’s face falls when he sees Karen and Julia. Julia is enjoying being chatted up by Dave and Karen takes the opportunity to speak to Jimmi again about the Immersion therapy. Karen is mortified when Jimmi gets upset and tells her to butt out.

Cherry mentions to Julia about Ruth being at her house, and Michelle overhears and is really angry. Michelle has a go at Cherry and upsets her, then confronts Julia about it. Julia is sorry Michelle can’t see that it was Ruth’s illness that made her act as she did. Michelle says she thinks Ruth will do the same to Julia, and Julia tells Michelle to lighten up.

Joe Meredith (40s) approaches Karen. He is an ex colleague of Rob’s, who left the police and now runs the club security. Karen is quite flattered when he flirts with her. Cherry and Michelle are fed up that Karen and Julia are having more luck than they are. Joe tells Karen he’s split from his wife, but then there is a problem at the door and he leaves.

Karen and Cherry see Joe as they leave the toilets. Karen is about to go to him when they spot Maria leaving a room with a much older man. The man gives Joe a lot of money and Maria looks very upset. Joe slaps her across the face.

Cherry and Karen are horrified to realise the club is being used as a brothel. Cherry finds Maria in the toilets and tends to the wound on her face. Maria tells her she is fourteen, from Bucharest and her uncle sold her to Joe the day after she arrived in the UK.

Julia has really let her hair down and is rather tipsy and dirty dancing with Dave.

Joe invites Karen for a private drink in his office. He grabs her arm and starts to lead her towards it when Cherry appears and whisks her away. She brings Jimmi and Michelle up to speed. Jimmi goes off to call the police and Karen goes to keep Joe busy while Michelle and Cherry find Maria.

Cherry sees a bouncer roughly bundle Maria into a room and then stand guard outside. Jimmi meets DI Ian Kilburne (30s) and some NSE officers outside the club. DI Kilburne is worried that being ex police Joe will spot them and they won’t be able to catch him in the act.

Joe is leading a worried Karen to his office when Jimmi stops Joe. Jimmi shows interest in wanting a young girl. Joe offers him Maria and names a price. Just then DI Kilburne appears and arrests Joe. So Joe doesn’t suspect Jimmi DI Kilburne arrests him too. Julia arrives and tells the group it turns out Dave has a wife.

At the police station Jimmi gets put in a cell. DI Kilburne ignores his protests. The police officers keep up the pretence and Jimmi starts to think he is in trouble when they suddenly burst out laughing. Maria promises to tell all she knows about Joe and DI Kilburne promises she will go home.

Julia can’t believe she missed it all and Michelle has a dig about it not being nice being the last to know. Julia totally shocks Michelle with the news that Ruth will be coming back to work when she is better and it’s tough if Michelle doesn’t like it.
