'Carpe Diem'

Melody asks Jimmi for advice about a job offer at a new poly-clinic. He reassures her that she’s ready for it and that he recommended her to the head of the clinic who is particularly interested in her work with mental health issues.

Melody’s confidence is bolstered until she remembers that she has to pass her exams first! The partners interview for a new GP and Heston demands he gets to make the final decision after the Ruth disagreement. By the end of the day Heston decides on the doc in stilettos, much to Lily’s horror!

During the story of the day Cherry realises she needs to seize the day herself and so asks Simon out for a drink!

Meanwhile, Cherry visits her friend Amber (mid 20’s), and is stunned to find she now lives in a huge mansion. Amber’s disappointed Cherry has missed the chance to see her much older and richer husband St John, but excited to catch up with her friend. Meanwhile, St John’s son Ralph (Late 20’s), stares at the girls with a clear lecherous and malicious intent.

When Amber’s best friend Anthony turns up, displaying a clear hatred for Ralph, Cherry is convinced she understands the world Amber lives in; clearly Ralph is lusting after a vulnerable and attention deprived Amber while Anthony watches on, eager to whisk her away.

That night at the local pub, a tipsy Cherry tells Anthony he’s Amber’s soul mate and that he should rescue her from her loveless life. Anthony assures her she’s got it wrong and tells Amber to tell her the truth.

The next morning Amber explains the real situation to Cherry; Amber loves her husband but in a moment of madness slept with Ralph. Ralph is now blackmailing her with the secret which only her friend Anthony knows about. Amber doesn’t want to lose St John but can’t stand Ralph’s demands anymore; what should she do?

A shocked Cherry advises Amber to tell the truth to St John, as this is the only chance she has of keeping the man she loves. Amber thanks Cherry and awaits her husband’s return as Ralph stands by petrified of his father’s reaction.
