Jimmi arrives for his Police surgeon shift and is shocked to see Michelle who is mortified but relieved to see a familiar face. Jimmi takes Michelle to his flat and covers for her with Karen.
When he checks on her later in the day he lays it on the line for her; she needs to stop blaming Ruth for everything and has to face up what has happened. Daniel is feeling morose and for once not getting any sympathy off Simon.
When he goes to skulk off home early Karen tells him straight there’s no way Julia would give him the radio job, he’d be a PR disaster!
Zara keeps complaining to Ruth about how hot The Mill is, sweating profusely throughout the day. Eventually she has to change into her gym kit and when Ruth finds her she gets an undeserved mouthful of criticism.
Meanwhile, When Cherry supports her friend Louise Costello (24) and her mother Maria (49) at Louise’s father’s funeral, Maria is taken aback when she sees Yvonne Diamond (49).
At the wake Louise spots Yvonne and recognises her from earlier, and intrigued she and Cherry approach her. Yvonne gives nothing away and swiftly leaves after seeing Maria. Cherry and Louise are left speculating who Yvonne is, and Louise is convinced she was having an affair with her father.
Cherry tries to calm Louise who comes straight out and asks Maria who Yvonne is. Maria says she, Louise’s father and Yvonne were all friends together, but Louise tells Cherry she doesn’t believe her mother.
When Yvonne turns up at the house, Cherry is sent to spy on them by Louise and is shocked when she sees Yvonne and Maria kissing! Cherry hides as Yvonne leaves and calls Simon for advice.
When Cherry she confesses to Maria that she saw her with Yvonne, Maria admits that she and Yvonne were having an affair and is worried that Louise knows. When Maria confesses all Louise is dismayed to find out that her dad knew all along, it has shattered her illusions of their family.
Cherry later finds Louise in the park and makes Louise realise that her mum loves her no matter what, and she drops Louise at home where Maria is waiting.
