'Puncture Repair'

It's breakfast at the Hollins' and Jack receives a phone call from a good university on the other side of the country inviting him for interview that afternoon! Karen insists on a family outing. Immie is horrified and insists she gets to play her Emo music in the car.

The trip is a complete disaster; first the car won't start, then they run out of petrol and then get lost! By the time they get there the family are barely speaking and Jack has to sprint for his interview. He doesn't get the place but his family all reassure him, and on the way home Immie takes off her Emo music and gradually the Hollins are brought together as they start to sing along to 'Rocky Mountain High'.

Meanwhile Zara sees Ruth giggling and whispering to Michelle and Cherry, and mistakenly assumes Ruth has told everyone about her early menopause. Ruth reassures her that she hasn't and Zara looks visibly relieved, but refuses point blank to divulge her feelings to Ruth.

Meanwhile, Pete (28) is in bed with his fiancée Julie (27) when they are rudely interrupted by Julie's mother Dee (62) shouting at them to get up. They're planning the wedding of the century and today is make-up rehearsal day.

First Pete has to go to the Mill for some more holiday vaccinations and is pleased to see Cherry. They talk about the wedding as Cherry shows him the injections, explaining which is which, making no move to use them.Pete leaves and Dees eyes Cherry suspiciously.

At the salon, the make up is plied on Julie as Dee raises her suspicions about Pete and Cherry. At first Julie is having none of it but when Pete calls claiming he needs to go back to the Mill, to do something he's been 'putting off for far too long', Julie is devastated. She calls a taxi immediately to fight for her man, as in the nurses' room Pete declares to Cherry that he wants to 'do it'.

Julie and Dee burst into the room to find Cherry bent over a passed out Pete. It all looks very 'Carry On' but Cherry explains she gave him his first injection and he screamed and fainted. He has a phobia of needles and has been struggling to overcome it so he can take Julie on her dream honeymoon.

Pete starts to wake but seeing Julie in a ton of make up, passes out again! When he comes round Julie expresses how touched she is that he'd do this for her. Pete admits he's been feeling stressed and that he doesn't want this big wedding.

To his surprise neither does Julie. She tells Dee she was doing it to please her, Julie just wants a wedding on a beach in Goa. Dee is upset but says as long as she's invited she doesn't care what they do. Dee hugs Pete tightly and winks at Cherry who injects him quick. Dee tells him 'You can't get married in Goa without injections!' Only 5 more to go…
