'Basic Instincts'

Although Simon is still angry with Cherry, he can't resist Todd when he phones to confirm the details of their first date, tonight.

Simon is shy and awkward where Todd is confident and at ease with himself but despite plenty of hiccups along the way, the two of them hit it off and Simon surprises them both by initiating a very touching first kiss.

Daniel, meanwhile, gets in over his head and nearly ruins Julia's deal, when he tries to flirt with gorgeous sales rep Belinda.

Meanwhile, a nervous Jay Hucknell (27) waits outside a gallery, until he sees Dominic Pignon emerge from within carrying a painting. Donning a balaclava, Jay exits his car, and tackles Dominic, pushing him to the floor and taking the painting. But as he is fleeing, elderly passer-by Dolly rams him with her shopping trolley.

Jay goes a cropper, banging his head and dropping his car keys. His getaway thwarted, Jay sees Simon about to get into his own car, snatches his keys, and apologetically makes his escape.

Rob and PC Lyn Elliot arrive to find Simon treating Dominic (having fetched Dominic's inhaler from his car, and seen a "Primo's Gym" bag) who has asthma. Retrieving Jay's dropped keys, they discover Jay's car, and decide to trace it.
Back at the station, Rob listen's to Dominic's account, but despite smelling a rat, has to let him go.

Jay tries to return home, but the police have traced him via his car, and have beaten him there – where can he go? Simon arrives home to find his car outside his house, and creeping carefully in, discovers the culprit is in his bath! It's Jay, his old friend from medical school - what the hell is going on?

Jay opens up - he dropped out of med school, clocked up huge debts, and has just graduated as an actor. He met Dominic a week ago, who, following a fling, offered Jay a large amount of money to pretend to mug him. Although not keen, Jay allowed himself to be talked into it - but then made a complete hash of it! Simon listens, then tells Jay to get dressed, he's going to hand himself in.

At the police station Rob believes Jay's story, but it's essential they get the painting back. But Jay doesn't know – he followed the instructions to hand it on to a guy called Primo on a street corner.

When Rob recounts this to Simon, the name rings a bell. Rob and Simon go to Primo's gym, to see Dominic emerging with Primo, and a bag. Rob arrests Dominic – and tells Simon, that with luck Jay should get off without a custodial sentence.
