'Maternal Instincts'

Sue wakes up feeling full of guilt, Simon tries to reassure her but to no avail, desperate he calls The Mill and asks Karen if she could send a doctor around to help, Karen offers Jimmi. Simon is pleased until the only available doctor Karen could find arrives… Zara!

Simon tries to get rid of her but Zara pushes her way through to Sue. To Simon’s horror Zara has some no nonsense advice for Sue and kicks him out. Sue’s eyes light up when Zara recommends revenge as the only course of action.

Zara leaves Sue feeling more upbeat but Simon wants a word… he tells Zara she’s turned his mum into a monster but Zara soon puts him in his place.

Karen’s eyes light up when attractive patient Xavier Rodriguez (40) arrives, intriguingly he insists on seeing Lily. As Cherry, Daniel and Karen gossip Lily arrives and recognizes Xavier, she shuffles him off to her office. Xavier is Lily’s old dance partner, to her horror he is here to declare his undying love and has brought his own music to rekindle their dance.

An amused Daniel observes through Lily’s window and can’t resist teasing Lily, surely she is tempted? The teasing puts it all in perspective for Lily, she loves Heston. She tells a deflated Xavier, having rescued him from the clutches of Karen. He leaves her his number in case she changes her mind.

Meanwhile, As her burglar alarms sounds Amy Rodgers (70) calmly enters her house, inside she dials 999. With the police present she calls her daughter Sarah and tells her that her precious vase was smashed.

Soon a concerned Daniel arrives to see Amy, she reveals this is the fourth burglary she’s had recently, Daniel is incensed and asks after her daughter – Amy reveals they aren’t close.

Reluctantly, Daniel leaves her to it but can’t resist checking up on her later and brings her a cake; but Amy doesn’t look too pleased to see him! She looks even worse when her daughter arrives and Daniel tries to tell her she should visit her mother more often, Sarah is annoyed and gives her mum a package.

Daniel soon discovers that in the ‘package’ is a broach that Amy said was stolen - Amy and Sarah have been staging the burglaries so that Sarah can claim the insurance and Amy gets the attention from the local victim support.

Amy pleads with him to turn a blind eye but feeling double crossed Daniel calls the police.
