'Last Supper In Suburbia'

At the campus Michelle and Zara make up safe sex packs for the students as Karen talks about how Jack is learning basic survival skills for university.

On cue Jack calls Karen, confused by the washing machine. When he hears what his mum and the others are up to he offers to come help, especially when he hears Zara is there.

Jack arrives and impresses his idolising mother with his helpfulness. When she’s out of the room he flirts with Michelle and Zara spots him pocket some condoms.

Later Zara takes him into her office and reveals she saw him steal the condoms. She tells him that what happened between them was a one off and he shouldn’t get any ideas. Jack acts cool and agrees. He charmingly adds that it was an amazing one-off and goes to leave. Zara can’t resist and pulls him in for a kiss.

They pull apart just as Karen enters and act like nothing happened. Zara sighs; that was close.

Meanwhile, Julia has taken part in a ‘come dine with me’- type competition with her friends/neighbours and tonight is the final night. Her neighbour Lydia (45) is cooking and has been refurbishing her house so it is picture perfect. Julia is meant to be at home doing paperwork but instead she tries on different outfits. A surprise package arrives for Julia, containing a beautiful dress with a price tag of £2,500!

When Lydia visits, Julia can’t help but share the joy of her surprise, questioning who it could be from?! Lydia acts pleased for Julia but when she returns home we see her frantically searching for an outfit to rival Julia’s. Heston tries to get through to Julia all day but to little avail; she is busy getting her hair done and picking up mutton for Lydia.

After trying on the dress Julia looks at the receipt and is devastated to find the dress was bought with her credit card. She struggles out of the dress and calls the bank in a panic. When Heston arrives about the paperwork Julia tells him the whole story and he admonishes her for losing her head over something so silly. He offers to do the paperwork for her if she promises not to wear the dress!

Twenty minutes later, Lydia answers the door to Julia, in that dress! Lydia and her guests Bernice and Katherine are green with envy. The dinner continues with Lydia pulling off a fantastic meal despite fretting. They all write the winner on a piece of paper and Julia pops to the bathroom.

On her way back she sees a receipt for the new furniture and is furious at what she sees. Julia goes back to the table and remains silent as Lydia is named the winner. Julia can stand no more and asks Lydia where she got her credit card details.

Lydia knows the game is up and reveals she heard Julia make an order on the phone and she wrote the numbers down. She’s been so desperate to impress that she committed fraud in order to refurbish her house. Lydia points out that Julia is just as bad; she’s wearing a £2,500 dress! Her dress. Julia leaves in shock.

Later at home, Julia is surprised to find Lydia at her door with her coat. Lydia admits Julia should have won, Julia reveals that she hired caterers anyway. Lydia promises to pay everything back and as she leaves we see Julia alone with only her pride and envy for company.
