Cherry finally makes her decision and calls Scott to say she would love to move in with him. He's delighted. Steven researches Christine's condition online and suddenly realises the seriousness of the situation.
He goes to the Mill to see Heston but he says he is too busy to see him. It's clearly too much for Heston. Steven waits in reception for a while and Julia goes to speak to Heston chastising him for making Steven wait so long. Heston agrees to see him but the pain of seeing Steven is almost too much for Heston to bear.
He manages to find the strength to answer Steven's questions about his mother's condition and is deeply moved when Steven gets upset.
Steven breaks down in Heston's arms and Heston realises he is heading for a fall.
Meanwhile, Deborah Cavanagh (42) arrives at the University Of Letherbridge School Of English. There's a moment of recognition between her and Larry Bryan (42) the security man, and Deborah throws her arms around him. Professor Clayborne Jarvis (50) looks miffed and interrupts them as Deborah is late for her lecture. Deborah has a funny turn during the lecture so Clayborne takes her to the Campus surgery.
Larry is also there seeing Cherry for a Cholesterol level check, but narrowly misses seeing Deborah as Cherry shows her into see Zara. Deborah has high blood pressure and had forgotten to take her medication. Cherry has found a magazine called 'Perfect Romance' and is completely enthralled in an article about love at first sight which reminds her of Scott. She then reads an inscription in Larry's poetry book and he tells her about his first love, Debbie.
Cherry then takes Deborah a cup of tea and finds her reading the same article that she has been reading. Deborah tells her she comes from Letherbridge but left her first love to go to university and how all the old feelings came flooding back when she saw him today.
Back at the university Clayborne warms Larry off Deborah, and then offers Deborah a permanent job. He lunges at her at the same time as Larry enters the room and he thinks they are kissing. Deborah knees Clayborne in the groin and he tells her Larry is married with kids. Larry calls a cab for Deborah but is secretly gutted.
Cherry finds a morose Larry and takes him to find Deborah. They get stuck in a traffic jam but luckily Deborah's cab is stuck too. Larry chases after her and recites poetry to her, but it looks like he has lost her when she signals for the cab to move on. Suddenly, she runs to Larry asking about his wife. He tells her that Clayborne was lying, and they fall into each others arms.
