'Soul Mates'

Before he leaves to take Steven to the hospital, Lily checks with Heston that they are firm with their decision. Christine is pleased that Heston and Steven appear to be getting on but Heston tries to be firm that it was only a day. She asks Heston to tell Steven how ill she really is. He tries to talk to Steven who starts to question who Heston is – why has he suddenly come back into their lives?

Steven asks Heston if he is his father and Heston says he wishes he was. As Heston explains the past, it's all too much for Steven and he walks away.

As Heston is about to leave the hospital Steven arrives and asks if he can stay with him if his mum dies. Heston agrees but later guiltily lies to Lily about it. Michelle notices something is on Simon's mind when he sees Cherry, and he tells her what Zara said yesterday about Scott.

Michelle is determined to discover the truth and probes an unwitting Cherry. Zara's comments make more and more sense and Michelle tells Simon that they have to warn Cherry - they even search unsuccessfully for Scott's medical records. Simon agrees he will say something to her.

Meanwhile, chatty young mother Casey James (21) recognises shy businesswoman Sian Harbour (35) as they enter The Mill. Jimmi has to break the bad news to Sian that she won't be able to have children. She hurries out upset as Casey goes in to see Jimmi, who breaks the news that she is pregnant - but Casey is despondent, they can't afford it.

Later, Casey bumps into Sian in the park and they get talking as Casey asks Sian what she would do in her shoes. Sian opens up to Casey about her infertility and the fact her ex girlfriend didn't want children but she did. They soon start to bond and suddenly Casey leans over and kisses Sian, however she admits it didn't feel right. Sian understands and they laugh about it.

Casey reveals the problems she's having with her boyfriend Kevin and as she takes a call from him, her daughter Mandy falls off a swing and Sian runs over to her. They take her to The Mill as Casey tells Sian she wants to ask her something.

At The Mill Jimmi is surprised to see them together, and becomes alarmed as Sian and Casey talk vaguely about an arrangement they have made. He becomes more and more confused and concerned until it transpires that Casey has simply asked Sian to be godmother to the unborn baby.
