That evening, Lily apologises to Heston who tells her straight that he won't abandon Steven now not even for her. Urged on by Michelle, Simon tries to talk to Cherry about Scott with no success. Eventually they pin her down and Michelle comes straight out with it… they think Scott could be married!
Cherry is dumbfounded and won't believe them, so Michelle reveals they couldn't even find any medical record of him. Simon apologises to a teary Cherry who tells him that he's got to come with her to find out the truth.
They return to the bar where they first met Scott and ask the barman who tells them Scott isn't married. Cherry is relieved, but back at home she confronts Scott with some queries, and he allays her fears with consummate ease.
Meanwhile, local crime fighter Winnie Carpenter (73) meets Rob in a local café, and tongue in cheek he asks if she's got any more tip-offs for him. She tells him about old Mary Wicklow (80's) and her dodgy grandson Clive Wicklow (late 20's) who has just reappeared, and Rob reluctantly agrees to check it out. Apart from Mary's slight confusion he finds nothing suspicious and tells a disappointed Winnie that she needs to drop it.
Instead, Winnie goes round and tells Clive that she's on to him. Later, Winnie is mysteriously mugged, and Rob is furious when she tells him it was Clive Wicklow. He immediately brings him in under arrest, but is soon stopped in his tracks when Sgt Collins tells him Winnie didn't see her attacker and when they search through the CCTV they discover her attacker was actually a woman. Clive is released and Rob confronts Winnie about lying to him.
Later, Collins tells Rob that Clive Wicklow's fingerprints are actually a match for a well known offender called Declan Dunn. They go over to Mary's and arrest Declan for deception just as he's taking a TV out of the house into a van. They find a confused Mary and a female associate of Declan's who they recognise from the earlier CCTV.
Rob's concerned by Mary's confusion as he tries to tell her what has happened when Winnie turns up. She agrees to look out for Mary from now on, and stay as Rob's informant!
