'Worst Critic'

Art teacher Annie (60s) sees Michelle for her bad arthritis. She makes Michelle promise to come to her students' exhibition at the college and gives Michelle one of her paintings for the staff room.

At the college Annie runs into ex boyfriend and famous art critic Dan (60s) who letches over female students whilst talking patronisingly to Annie. She then finds her star student Mikey (19) has destroyed his own artwork, believing it not good enough. Annie is devastated, and desperate to save the show she lets Mikey convince her into putting some of her own art work in, passing it off as a student's.

Michelle turns up with some arnica for Annie, but Annie is distracted by the surprise appearance of Dan. She panics, worried he'll recognise her artwork. However he presumes its Mikey's artwork and praises its genius!

Mikey and Annie find it hysterical and Mikey convinces Annie to show Dan the very painting he criticised years ago. Dan is so impressed that he offers to buy it! Annie doesn't want to ruin Mikey's chance of mentoring so she keeps quiet, but Dan notices the date 1968 on the painting Annie gave Michelle. Annie confesses all and Dan is furious!

Annie is on a roll though and tells him what she really thinks of him. Dan complains to the vice chancellor and although she loses her job, she's offered the chance to exhibit all of her work! Jimmi deals with Martin (70s), who asks for jabs so he can go to Egypt with the army to sort out the Suez Canal business.

Worried for Martin's mental state, Jimmi walks him home and finds Martin's house is in a real mess. Martin hurriedly cleans up telling Jimmi he's waiting for his wife Edith to return.

As time goes on Martin gets increasingly confused and Jimmi calls Karen to check if Martin's wife has died. His suspicions are correct so he calls the hospital, asking them to mentally assess Martin. Jimmi tries to explain what's going on, but Martin's in his own world, claiming he's proposing to Edith that night.

When the paramedics arrive Jimmi finally gets through to Martin who is stricken with grief and loneliness. He agrees to get assessed and Jimmi goes with him to the hospital.
