She summons Daniel into her office and while the gossips hope he'll be able to prize something out of his former housemate, Lily wants to talk business. She has a letter from Heston saying he'll back Daniel's proposed botox clinic and she has already said she's in favour so if Daniel can put together a presentation and persuade Julia, then it's a goer.
When a delighted Daniel returns from lunch, the girls are gutted to know that he only discussed work. Julia is snowed under with admin work and as soon as she hears that Lily is back from holiday she pleads with her to help with the backlog. She hints that Lily and Heston haven't been pulling their weight recently as partners.
Lily is polite but claims that with her police surgeon, her forensic commitments and the ever-growing demands of general practice, she's totally stretched herself - why else would she have cut her holiday short.
Julia finds she can't argue with this but feels unsupported, especially when Zara phones her from the campus surgery complaining about the cramped conditions and arguing they need the space to be able to have more than one doctor and one nurse at the surgery at a time. Julia says that Heston has promised to look into it to, which Zara says isn't much use as Heston's on holiday.
As Zara curtly rings off, Julia is left reeling. Cherry returns to work, and everyone's very concerned about her, but she slowly drives everyone away with her loved up stories about how gallant and caring Scott has been.
Meanwhile, Michael (44) is struggling with six-month-old daughter Daisy, and girlfriend Charlotte (28), who is distant and detached. He takes them to the Campus, where Daisy has an appointment.
Charlotte waits in the car, while Michael takes their daughter in to see Zara, but once there, admits he's there to talk about Charlotte. Daisy is Down's, and Charlotte just doesn't seem to be coping. Zara says it sounds like Post-Natal Depression, but she can't be much help unless Charlotte comes in. While Michael is strapping Daisy back into the car, he fails to notice heavily pregnant Stella (43) arriving at the surgery.
As they're driving off, Michael realises he's left Daisy's bunny in Zara's room, and goes back. Stella is seeing Michelle in the nurse's room, and all seems to be fine, though she experiences a little discomfort. As Stella is leaving she's shocked to bump into Michael in reception, but he's even more shocked to see she's pregnant. Stella's waters break and Zara rushes her into the nurse's room.
Outside, Charlotte is waiting in the car with a crying Daisy, but refuses to engage with her. Zara is doing her best to deal with Stella, while Michael tries to gain access to the room – of course he knows Stella, she's his wife! Stella and Michael argue; of course it's his baby, she isn't the one who was sleeping with other people, and when he left her for another woman, why should she have told him she was pregnant?
The paramedics from St Phil's arrive, and when the pain becomes too much, Stella grabs Michael's hand – it's clear that she needs him right now. Zara agrees to take Charlotte and Daisy to St Phil's, where the baby has an appointment that afternoon.
At the hospital Stella has a healthy baby Rosie, and offers to take Michael back. He's tempted, even more so when he discovers Daisy has a heart defect and requires surgery. He has the choice; the simple life versus the complicated. He wavers and Zara takes him to task. This isn't about whose bed he ends up in, there are two babies he needs to care for.
Michael tells Stella he didn't leave because Charlotte was pregnant, but because he didn't love Stella any more. He'll be there for her and their daughter, but his place is with Charlotte and Daisy.
