'Driving Miss Crazy'

Lily and Michelle tease Heston for his over enthusiasm for Christmas. Lily happens upon an article about becoming a foster parent, and phones to make enquiries and puts her name down to attend an information evening the following day. She takes Heston to dinner to tell him about it and is very excited.

Heston seems to be but his face betrays the slightest of misgivings. Ruth takes a message for Jimmi from a mystery caller hoping his course went well and that they miss him on the radio.

Meanwhile, Meredith Garvey (20s) has recently been appointed as the deputy head of a primary school but is being blackmailed by the janitor Tony Depp (30s) over a tape he has of them having sex a few years ago, which he is threatening to show to her headmaster. He demands another instalment of £100 by lunchtime, but then finds her later and says instead he wants payment in kind.

Meredith goes to see Cherry to cancel their lunch date and asks if Cherry remembers the name of a dodgy pub. Cherry is upset that Meredith doesn't explain why she is blowing her out.

Meredith approaches Kenny Lopez (40s) a burly, hard nut in the dodgy pub and employs him to get the tape of Tony and rough him up a bit. Meredith goes to see Cherry and confesses everything to her. Meanwhile Kenny roughs Tony up but Tony gets the upper hand and offers to double whatever Kenny is getting paid.

Cherry and Meredith are at Meredith's house when the door goes, it's Kenny. A frightened Meredith explains he shouldn't know where she lives. Cherry recognises Kenny and realises he isn't a threat. He gives Meredith an envelope with a threat from Tony and Cherry wants to go to the police but Meredith refuses. Cherry ropes Simon into coming to the Icon to keep and eye on Meredith as she has arranged a date with Tony.

Meanwhile, an enraged Kenny discovers Tony has double crossed him. Tony changes when Meredith calls his bluff and agrees to sleep with him. He seems scared and unsure. Seeing this change, Cherry approaches Tony and warns him to stop blackmailing Meredith.

Simon comes over and pretends to be a police officer. Cherry warns Tony if Meredith gets sacked she will make sure he never works again. A furious Kenny arrives and gives the tape to Meredith and drags Tony outside for a chat.
