'Dead Serious'

Heston and Lily agonise over the little things as they anticipate their meeting with the social worker about the fostering. Heston confesses to Julia his anxiety over it all.

Later, they meet with social worker Saskia Banerjee (48). All goes really well, she tells them that the only

point that could go against them is the short time they've been together but all the positives should outweigh that. When she leaves, Lily is really excited. Heston suggests a slap up meal to celebrate but Lily would rather measure up the spare room.

Humiliated, Karen has the mother of all hangovers which Immie finds hilarious. She can't do anything right, and Jimmi complains about his long distant house calls.

Later on his house calls, Jimmi gets lost, and it's soon dark. He finds the remote house but no-one is home, as he walks back to his car he is suddenly blinded by the bright lights of an oncoming vehicle.

Meanwhile, it's early morning and cleaner Neema Duamelle (21) is being watched as she enters The Campus surgery. Inside she is confronted by a groaning zombie-like intruder at which she holds a charm and chants. Zara arrives to find Rob and the police already at the surgery. Neema is terrified and can't give a description and just wants to carry on with her work.

Later, student Alex Cummings (20) arrives but Zara is having none of it when he tries to blag some antibiotics. Zara sends a ill looking Ruth to lie down but the intruder returns, and terrified Ruth tells Zara it was a zombie!

Zara sends her home and tracks down Neema and asks her if she saw a zombie like Ruth. Neema is terrified insisting the zombie is after her, and tells Zara that he smelt of rotting flesh. Neema shows Zara where she also smelt it; it's Alex's room.

Inside the room is Alex's brother Jake Barnes (25) in pain and with terrible wounds. Alex begs him to get proper medical help. Meanwhile Zara calls Rob who comes straight over with a picture of a suspect. Rob shows Neema the picture and she identifies Jake. Zara says zombie is not a bad description for him, and suspects Jake has necrotising fasciitis, a flash eating bacteria, and he's a dead man walking if they don't find him.

They go back to Alex who claims to not have seen Jake, but he soon gives in when Zara tells him what is wrong with Jake. Meanwhile Neema returns to work but is cornered in a store cupboard by Jake, terrified she manages to convince Jake that he needs urgent medical help.

Later, as the paramedics take Jake away Neema offers her charm to Zara; but she points out that if Neema doesn't need it anymore than why does she? Neema throws the pendant away.
