Later, she views The Mill tree, and judges that the winner of the competition is Immie, seeing as how she has done all the hard work! Lily clearly has something on her mind and confesses to Julia that she's thinking of proposing to Heston.
Julia tells her she should do it at the Christmas party later that night as Heston would love it; what's she got to lose? Heston tells everyone that he has booked a Father Christmas for the party, and when good looking Father Christmas Sam Dickens' (26) arrives, and Zara personally shows him where The Icon is.
Later everyone is gathered at the party, and Lily picks her moment, grabs the microphone and asks Heston to marry her. To everyone's shock, Heston just walks out. Desperate to fill the silence Julia chivvies along Sam as Father Christmas.
Lily catches up with Heston, and he tells her she's only doing this for the fostering which Lily cannot deny. The whole process has made Heston realise how different they really are, and that long term they would never work out. Lily is furious but utterly devastated and they both return to their separate homes alone.
Julia feels incredibly guilty, however the gang are all shocked but delighted when Sam turns out to be a strippogram Father Christmas! No-one is more delighted than Simon who has a sneaky kiss with Sam.
Jimmi is conspicuous by his absence all day and everyone assumes he's gone on holiday early, but we see him semi conscious chained to a radiator as Julia plays a CD of him singing a Christmas song!
Meanwhile, PC Craig Hughes informs Rob that a cat burglar is on the loose, Rob is cynical; a burglar that doesn't steal anything? He suddenly begins to take an interest when Karen arrives nagging him about the Christmas party!
At the scene of the first burglary Rob feels like he is being watched, he gets the same feeling at the second house. Rob is stumped but on his way to The Icon he spots The Mill window open; he manages to squeeze through and soon finds his culprit sitting by the tree in reception… Pip Tumley (13). She tells Rob that she wants to run away from home, her dad has lost his job and the family have nothing.
Rob persuades her to let him drop her home, her parents will be worried sick, even though they can't afford Christmas they still love her and family is what Christmas is all about.
Note that Doctors now takes its annual Christmas break and will return on Monday, January 4 at 1.45pm on BBC One.
