'Roleplay'

Ruth is starting to feel lonely in her flat. Later at the surgery she worries as she thinks she saw Smithy – was he really there? When she's alone Smithy does appear - along with all their old chemistry – and he tells her he's living at his parents.

They meet at The Icon later, where Ruth manages to avoid everyone apart from Jack.

Smithy tells Ruth he's proud of her, and Ruth is pleased that Smithy is moving on and getting better. As they leave The Icon, she tells him she'd like to see him again. Later she tells Michelle that she's met an old friend from the Beeches. Concerned Michelle warns her to be careful.

At home Lily lays down the ground rules to Sapphire about her methadone withdrawal programme and warns her that it'll be difficult. Cooped up together Lily struggles to entertain Sapphire who wants to go out, so she starts to melt inanimate objects while Lily watches her.

However, when Sapphire picks up an African carving of Lily's a stand off ensues…

Desperate, Lily calls Immie and offers to pay her to keep Sapphire company. Sapphire is horrified by the idea!

Meanwhile, late at night, Cait O'Connell tries to hide her sniffles and puts on her sexiest voice for telephone sex line customer 'Brian'; he 'gesundheit's' as she sneezes. In the morning Cait sees god-daughter Cherry at The Campus, and they ask about each other's non-existent love lives!

Meanwhile Brenhan Davis (45) arrives to register at the surgery. He sits next to Cait and admires her knitting, and Cherry notices how well they seem to be getting on. Cait is sure she knows Brenhan from somewhere, then she sneezes and Brenhan says 'gesundheit' and they both realise how they know each other. Cait hastily leaves forgetting her knitting.

At lunch Cherry thinks Cait should go out with Brenhan, but Cait is suspiciously cagey claiming she can't afford to go out.

Back at The Campus Brenhan asks Cherry for Cait's contact details. Cagey yet still playing cupid Cherry takes his phone number and agrees to pass it to Cait. However as Brenhan sits in his car he creepily smells Cait's knitting!

Cait returns to the surgery where Cherry tries to give her the number, but Cait tells Cherry not to go anywhere near Brenhan, he's a pervert! She confesses where she knows him from and Cherry is appalled! Cait leaves watched by Brenhan, but Cherry spots him following her. As Cait arrives on her doorstep she is confronted by Brenhan – she's Helga the dominatrix isn't she?

Cherry arrives in the nick of time but Cait desperately tries to stop her hitting Brenhan as he enjoys it! Cait confesses to Cherry that she took the job because she is desperately in debt, but she's going to give it up now!
