Meanwhile, Daniel arrives at The Campus boasting of a meeting at the swanky Radley Hotel. Lydia Metcalfe (24) comes to see Daniel for a sexual health check. He guesses that she may be working as an escort, and shocked that he's right, Lydia admits it's because she has huge university debts.
Daniel tries his best to counsel her. Meanwhile Laurence Metcalfe (49) arrives at the Radley and tries to call his daughter Lydia but she doesn't answer. He looks up an escort agency website and makes a booking.
Later, he manages to speak to Lydia who tells him she can't meet him that night; things are clearly strained between them. Daniel arrives late for his meeting at the Radley. His client is Laurence who tells him he has a date arriving any second... Lydia arrives and father and daughter are shocked to see each other.
Immediately realising what has happened, Daniel says that Lydia is meeting him; he tells Lydia that he thinks she is Laurence's date and she is appalled! The three awkwardly have dinner, at which Lydia resents her dad for leaving the family. Upset she dashes off and Daniel goes after her.
Laurence pleads with Daniel not to tell Lydia about his date but while he is alone he sees Lydia's phone ringing, the escort agency is calling her – now Laurence twigs. Daniel implores Lydia to give her dad a chance – everyone makes mistakes.
When they return to Laurence he has some misgivings of his own but Daniel makes them realise that they have both made mistakes – isn't it time to move on? He leaves them to talk.
