'Save The Children'

Immie goes to see Sapphire and offers to keep her company as Lily is called to the police station on an emergency (see SOTD). However Karen is alarmed when she phones home and Immie tells her Sapphire is there and pulls a sickie to dash home. Meanwhile Julia is annoyed that Lily is at the police station but neglecting her duties at The Mill.

When Karen arrives home Immie is embarrassed at her mum's overreaction particularly when Karen falsely accuses Sapphire of stealing! Immie tells Karen to give Sapphire a break.

Karen does her best and Sapphire enjoys the Hollins family banter! However when Lily finally gets away later she arrives to find Karen once again overreacting with Sapphire. Karen is ashamed as Lily gives her a piece of her mind. Lily admits she's finding being a parent very difficult; Karen understands. Lily and Sapphire leave together, their own family unit starting to emerge.

Ruth arrives home to once again find Smithy waiting with a slap up dinner! As they talk Ruth is startled when Smithy admits that he'd like to have children with her. Ruth doesn't think they should be parents but Smithy insists they'd be brilliant because they know what NOT to do!

Meanwhile, Rob is called to work where DI Kilburne addresses the troops; there's a missing girl - Courtney O'Brien – who's been gone for 14 hours. Out looking for her later on, Rob and PC Craig Hughes find Jamie Dyer (14) and Kevin Roscoe (14) shop-lifting, they bring them in.

Lily examines the pair and discovers Jamie covered in bruises, similarly so is Kevin; Lily is concerned they are both abused. Despite her concerns Rob says they have to be interviewed, charged and released as usual but Kilburne has news – they have viewed CCTV that shows Kevin and Jamie walking off with Courtney.

They interview the boys and Lily is concerned when Kevin has an asthma attack during the interview. She reminds everyone that they are children, but the police continue to question Jamie who claims the abduction was Kevin's idea – he wanted a girlfriend. Kevin says that Courtney is still alive.

Rob wants to know where she is, and Kevin tells him. As the police dash off to find her, Rob and Lily are alarmed when Kevin admits that he and Jamie had sex with Courtney – they think all girls say no when they mean yes, and Kevin thinks she is his girlfriend.

PC Hughes radios in saying that Courtney has been found alive. Lily says that Courtney is OK but needs to go to the rape suite. Rob and Lily ponder how Jamie and Kevin have never learned that their behaviour is wrong.
