Zara is struggling to be upbeat with Jed and in an attempt to get things back to how they used to be she organises dinner in a posh restaurant.

Jed puts on a brave face but he's dreading it. Daniel tries to tell Zara about his appointment with the bank later in the week but she isn't really listening.

Zara surprises both herself and Daniel when she starts to well up. She tells him Jed is driving her crazy. He is surprised that she hasn't spoken to Jed about it or even considered that he might not be happy with the situation either.

Dinner at the posh restaurant is a disaster with Jed fleeing before they've eaten.

Zara follows him and as they sit outside on a bench, Jed tells Zara he doesn't think him living with her is working out. They argue and Jed storms off. Zara goes home and eventually Jed comes back. He tells her he wants to move out as it's the only way they can save their relationship.

Zara reluctantly agrees and says she'll help him look at sheltered accommodation by the sea. He tells her he is very proud of her and she weeps in his arms. Charlie's gout is playing up and he won't be able to take part in the tap dancing. Ruth begs Jimmi to take his place but he refuses.

Upset at being second choice Daniel won't do it either. Ruth eventually gets Jimmi to agree to take part in the dancing but is left frustrated when he fails to take rehearsals seriously, and fears the whole thing is going to be a disaster.

Meanwhile, Michelle's tyre has been slashed and neighbour Dennie Carney (60) changes it for her. Their neighbour Marion Bartlett (60) comes over and joins them but feels sidelined as Michelle and Dennie are getting on so well.

Michelle discovers he is a huge Motown fan just like her dad was and she is over-awed when he shows her Smokey Robinson's bow tie. He gives her a record which he has written a message on, but Michelle doesn't see it. Marion upsets Dennie by saying she thinks Smokey sings like a girl.

Despite this Michelle thinks Marion and Dennie would make a great couple and Marion admits she likes him. When he goes to the campus surgery later for a diabetes check up, Michelle convinces Dennie to go to a tea dance Marion is hosting to raise money for St Phil's Cardiac Unit.

Marion gets her hair done and buys a new dress but at the dance Dennie only has eyes for Michelle. Dennie and Michelle dance and he kisses her; Michelle and Marion are furious. Later Michelle reads what Dennie wrote on the record sleeve and goes to see him.

When he looks in the mirror he still feels 25 inside and says he is in love with her. Michelle mentions Marion but Dennie says just being the same age isn't enough to have a relationship.

Michelle is moved by the depth of his feelings and admits if he was 20 years younger then her answer might have been different. Dennie tries to apologise to Marion but she tells him to grow up.
