Lesley then breaks down, saying she was just scared that Simon would tell Najmah. She says that Najmah has it in for her, turning up yesterday and reducing her to tears. Simon reassures her and decides to confront Najmah. Outside Social Services, Simon offers to buy Najmah a coffee. At the Icon he subtly questions her judgement with Lesley, citing her lack of sleep. Najmah guesses that Simon's been looking at her medical records and storms out. Simon catches her up and gets her to agree to leave Lesley alone for a while, but Najmah warns him to stick to formal procedures from now on her she'll report him.
At the Campus, Daniel returns from his holidays and Karen delights in letting slip that Zara has been made a partner. When Julia concedes they've discussed Zara becoming a partner in his absence, Daniel hangs up and asks Karen to fax something to The Mill. Later, a shocked Julia arrives, keen to explain and stop Daniel from pulling out of the partnership. Julia assures him that no decisions have been taken, though he must agree that Zara's partnership makes sense, unless there are any personal reasons that might get in the way. Daniel says there aren't any and Julia leaves him to think about it, calling Zara on her way back to say that it should be good news.
Elsewhere, Ruth meets Gordon, the new man in her mother's life, and Jimmi asks Cherry to move in with him.
