When the intercom system gets up and running, Mrs Tembe tries to demonstrate to Howard, but instead of calling Jas she buzzes through to Jimmi who is with a patient. When he doesn't correctly end the call, the entire reception is left listening to Jimmi doing what is clearly a rectal examination!
Later, Mr Pixel collapses with a heart attack and lies underneath Heston's desk. He pulls the cord of his badge but to no avail, and an intercom lies just out of reach. Finally, Mrs Tembe hears the music playing over the intercom - it's annoying and she marches off to tell Mr Pixel to stop. In Heston's room, she finally finds him unconscious and calls for help.
As Mr Pixel is rushed to hospital for treatment, Heston suggests that the intercom has claimed its first victim. However, Howard retorts that if it wasn't for the intercom Mrs Tembe wouldn't have found him in time.
Meanwhile, Jas steels herself for an awkward conversation with ex-boyfriend Aran, but the mobile number she has is dead and he has moved out of the landline address. Jas calls around their old friends, but no-one seems to know where he is. She shares her concern with Kevin, but is left thoughtful when he suggests that she might still be in love with him.
Elsewhere, when a cynical bailiff finds himself training an annoying and naïve girl, he is unprepared for the effect she will have on him.
