'Serving Time'

Jimmi comes into work early and treats his sore hands. He covers them up with gloves before the others arrive. Joe notices and questions Julia if Jimmi has OCD. She resists telling him but he is persistent and so she reveals that Jimmi has been dealing with it for a while. Julia asks Joe to leave Jimmi alone, but Joe is reluctant. Later Joe tells Jimmi he saw him washing his hands last night and Julia told him about the OCD. Jimmi is cold and insists he is fine. Joe leaves awkward.

Alone, Jimmi has an OCD attack, he then storms into Julia’s office. He tells her he trusted her and she has betrayed him. Nick tells Jimmi to stop playing the victim. Julia tries to apologise but Jimmi isn’t having any of it. She’s betrayed him twice now and he’s not going to be passed over any more. He resigns with immediate effect.

Adam turns up at the Mill and gives Michelle a gift of salsa to remind her of last night. He asks if they can go out again but Michelle holds back suggesting they give it a few days and see. Adam leaves thinking he’s been knocked back. Michelle sees that she needs to seize the day and goes round Adam's. They end up in bed together.

Meanwhile, Laura (28) and father Bill (55) bicker in the kitchen of their family run café. Laura slips and scalds her arm and Bill tries to help her. Customers rap at the hatch and the fire alarm goes off as Laura’s sister Dani arrives. Dani runs a boutique store in London but claims she is nostalgic being back. Laura goes to the Health Centre to have Michelle look at her arm. Laura tells Michelle how she had plans to go to catering college in Paris but when her mum died she decided to stay and help her dad. Michelle tells her it’s never too late but Laura brushes this off. She asks Michelle to come try some French cuisine this evening. When Laura returns Dani and Bill reveal that Dani is pregnant. She is coming back to live in Letherbridge for good. Bill tells Laura she’s now free to go pursue her dreams. Laura is reeling and tries to convince Dani that she’ll be bored. Dani tells Laura to stop being a martyr and to start living her dreams. Laura rips up her passport, frustrated.

Michelle arrives for her free meal and talks to Laura. Laura breaks down crying but Michelle is called away. Laura tells Bill she has lost her passport so can’t go. Bill insists he saw it earlier and Laura shouts that she make decisions about her own life, why are they forcing her out?! She runs out. Michelle comes back to check on Laura. She asks her what she’s scared of. Laura is worried it won’t live up to her dreams and that she won’t have what it takes. Michelle insists that if she doesn’t take this opportunity she will regret it; she can always go home. Laura goes back into the café and Bill and Dani look at her with apprehension; she smiles back. Bill thanks her for all she has done for him.

Note that there will be no episode of Doctors on Monday, May 28 due to the Bank Holiday.
