'Space to Breathe'

Archie has a number of no-show patients and Vivian gets him tidying up the magazines in the surgery, he starts to look through Letherbridge Life and finds a picture of Daniel but there is another name under the photo. He shows Joe who is confused.

He asks Daniel what its all about, he explains they must have got the caption wrong. He then has a go at Archie for trying to stir things.

Jimmi is very down and Julia tries to help, Jimmi is concerned that Eva is never going to come back. Vivian is not answering calls and then gets a bouquet which she gives to Michelle who is curious about what is going on.

Meanwhile, Megan a teenage girl who suffers from asthma is seeing Nick accompanied by her father. Her father wants to enrol her on a trial for a new drug, he is a drug salesman. Nick is not able to comply with his wishes without knowing if Megan’s mother is agreeable to this as they are separated, also he wants to know more about it. This irritates Richard as he has the doctor, who is running the trial on his back.

They return home and Lydia tells Richard that she is not willing for Megan to go on this trial. On their way to school, Lydia drops in to see Nick and is furious with him for going encouraging Richard to go along with this trial. Nick explains this is not the case and he suggests that they all sit down and have a proper discussion about it. When she returns to her car Megan has gone. She calls Richard and he agrees to go looking for her. He finds her walking to school and reprimands her for going off particularly as she had none of her medication.

Richard leaves and Lydia goes to take Megan a sandwich. She is angry with her mum she has found particulars about property in France and wants to know what is going on. Her mum tells her she wants them to go and live in France. Megan refuses. Richard returns trying to persuade Lydia to let Megan take part in the trial, they argue. Megan can hear them and breaks up her inhalers then goes downstairs clearly in distress.

They rush her off to Nick, he stabilises her and asks her parents to leave so that he can talk to her. She explains how she feels about her parents using her to their own ends, Nick encourages her to talk to them, which she does do and they all leave her parent chastened.
