Leyla's drinking spirals out of control

Leyla's day gets off to a bad start when she reverses into Murray's car. Instead of leaving him a note, hungover Leyla drives round to the garage and tells Bob that someone must have hit her car overnight. Later that evening, Leyla waits for Nicole and Stevie to go to bed and cracks open a bottle of wine. With a drunken phone call to Gabriel and an obvious hangover the next day, her family are beginning to put two and two together.

Leyla quickly makes excuses for not eating breakfast and heads to work. However, Tattie and Miriam realise that she is too sick to work and send her straight back home again. Leyla thinks there's only one way to get through the day and starts on some wine. When Nicole and Stevie arrive home, they finally see just how troubled Leyla is…

Meanwhile, Liz has found something she thinks can help Malcolm - music therapy. She hopes that as his dementia worsens, Malcolm will remember music that will trigger memories from his past. However, Malcolm is not as keen to get involved as Liz.

Elsewhere, Iona is all ready to ask Tom out on a date, and has booked tickets for a foreign film in order to impress him. At the same time, Hayley is on cloud nine following her kiss with Tom, but feels sick at the thought of having to break the news to Iona. However, Hayley doesn't have to give the bad tidings as Iona soon spots the pair sharing a kiss.
