BBC medical drama Casualty could be moved from its current filming location in Bristol to Cardiff as part of the BBC's 'out of London' strategy.
It has been reported that the BBC aims to create a drama centre in the Welsh capital, which also hosts filming locations for other BBC One shows including Doctor Who and Torchwood.
The BBC's director of vision, Jana Bennett, is expected to deliver a keynote speech entitled 'BBC Beyond the M25' to the Royal Television Society tonight.
By 2016, it is hoped that 60% of all BBC productions will be made outside of London.
A BBC spokeswomen said: "We cannot comment until later on today."
