Chris Bisson to guest in 'Casualty'
Former Coronation Street and Shameless actor Chris Bisson is to make a guest appearance in this year's Valentine's Day episode of Casualty.

The 33-year-old, who played Vikram Desai in Corrie and Kash in Channel 4's dramedy, is to play a character called Carl who is involved in a gruesome accident while trying to impress his wife.

After successfully managing to ruin his romantic date with his older, controlling wife Wendy, the pair discuss livening up their sex lives by turning to role play as she is worried that he'll go off her. Carl, however, is not convinced.

In a bid to show Wendy what he's made of, Carl attempts a daredevil stunt which goes horribly wrong. He makes a run for a closing swing bridge but fails to make it to the other side, leaving his legs crushed.

When paramedics arrive, they realise that the only way to save him is to amputate his limbs.

His episode, entitled 'Stand By Me', airs on Saturday, February 14 on BBC One.

Yesterday, details of the show's new ambulance technician Polly Emmerson - played by Sophia di Martino - were also announced.

Last year, Bisson made an appearance in ITV's now-axed Polnarren-set soap Echo Beach.
