The 24-year-old actress will play a junior doctor on the BBC One medical drama from September, The Sun claims.
Moffett has previously appeared in a number of other British TV shows, including The Bill, Where The Heart Is and Spooks: Code 9. Her one-episode Doctor Who part saw her introduced as The Doctor's daughter Jenny and also led to a romance with the show's lead actor David Tennant in real life.
It is believed that Personal Affairs star Laura Aikman and unknown actors Steve Miller and Will Sharpe have also signed up for roles in the long-running programme, while veteran comedian Russ Abbot is to play a pet shop owner in a one-off part.
A source revealed: "Russ had us all in stitches. He was constantly telling jokes on set. We couldn't film because we were laughing so much. He's only in one episode but he steals the show."
