Christmas 'Casualty' appeals to 4m

Casualty's Bank Holiday Monday outing fared well against ITV's soap hour last night, according to overnight data.

'Winter Wonderland' picked up 4.04m (14.9%) for BBC One between 7.10pm and 8pm.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale drew 8.36m (32.1%) at 7pm, after which the first of a double Coronation Street took 9.71m (35%).

EastEnders was the most-watched serial, with 10.22m (36.1%) tuning in at 8pm, after the second trip to Weatherfield logged 9.75m (34.5%). BBC Three's Albert Square repeat at 11.30pm fetched 652k (5.2%).

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks notched up 961k (4%) for Channel 4 and 401k (1.6%) for E4's first look at 7pm.
