'Casualty's Sunetra Sarker on Zoe and Jordan

Published Friday, Apr 10 2009, 20:56 BST | By Kris Green | 2 comments
Here are a few bonus bits from my recent chat with Casualty's Sunetra Sarker - aka Dr Zoe Hanna.

Click here to read the interview, or read on if you'd like to know more about what's to come for Zoe, Jordan (Michael French) and Adam (Tristan Gemmill).

Zoe's got some good storylines on the horizon, hasn't she? What about the whole Jordan and Adam power play?
"Well that's going to come as a 'B story' because Zoe's not been very interested in being a doctor while she's been so preoccupied with Sharice. I think she has to start looking at what's going on around her while she's been so busy with Sharice, and what's going on around her is that Adam and Jordan are becoming two stags locking horns and there's a bit of a power play going on. I think she's starting to think 'hang on a second - I need to get my status back because I'm going to lose out'. She starts playing with the boys again - rolling her sleeves up and mucking in there and showing the boys that she's just as a good. There's girl power to be played!"

What about Zoe and Jordan?
"We haven't got to filming this bit yet. I know they've always had a very interesting dynamic whenever you see them on screen, though. You can see that they're very similar people which would make them allies or enemies. You can't work out where they would sit. I think it's a question which comes up a lot when they're in the room together. They could go either way - but is it a good thing or is it a bad thing?

"It's very interesting to think what would happen if they were locked in a room together? What would happen if they were treating a patient together? Would they help each other or would they spar with each other? Zoe's the first female to meet Jordan's professional standards. She's no pussycat and Jordan knows that. He's got a certain amount of respect for her, as she has for him."

What's it like working with Michael French?
"He's lovely. He's got a really nice attitude - he's very professional about his work but he's also a real joker! He likes to have a laugh and it's always good to have a very good friend off screen and on screen. It's been very easy to work with him, to be honest. I forget how long he's been in the show now. It must be nearly a year in May and he's really slotted into our team well."

I reckon Zoe will pack in nursing and concentrate on looking after Sharice.
