'Hollyoaks Later' returns with 570k on E4

The return of Hollyoaks Later proved popular on Monday evening, while Coronation Street again won its ratings battle with EastEnders, according to overnight audience data.

The new series of spinoff Hollyoaks Later launched with 570k (3.1%) on E4 in the 10pm hour, up on the previous series debut last October. An additional 126k (1.3%) watched the show on E4+1.

ITV1's Coronation Street averaged 7.81m (29.9%) from 9pm and 397k (1.9%) on +1, as Stella was rushed to hospital, while Frank took the blame for Carla.

EastEnders appealed to 7.61m (31.7%) on BBC One from 8pm, as Kat declared that her marriage to Alfie Moon is over. A further 838k (4.1%) caught BBC Three's repeat screening from 10pm.

Emmerdale entertained 7.45m (34.6%) on ITV1 in the 7pm hour and 129k (0.5%) on +1, as Alicia was left humiliated after Andy called off the move to Spain .

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks managed 1.28m (6.6%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm and 121k (0.5%), before E4's first look at the next episode pulled in 445k (2.1%).

Doctors was seen by 1.66m (21%) on BBC One from 1.45pm, while Neighbours took 761k (9.6%) on Channel 5, as well as 1.21m (8%) for the repeat at 5.30pm.
