'Holby' team hails "fantastic" BAFTA win
The cast and crew of BBC's Holby City have revealed their delight at picking up a BAFTA TV Award.

Co-creator and executive producer Tony McHale was pleased that the show could no longer be considered "the bridesmaid".

Speaking after the win in the best continuing drama category, he said: "It's just fantastic not being the bridesmaid. We've been the bridesmaid for quite a few years. Not only in these awards but in other awards. It's just a fantastic feeling that we've actually won it."

Actor Hugh Quarshie, who plays Ric Griffin on the show, said it was "fantastic" to beat EastEnders because it is a "prime soap".

He said: "We don't consider ourselves a soap. We are once a week, we're single-camera, they're multi-camera, they're on three or four times a week. We hope that what we've done has raised the bar for all continuing dramas. To beat the best of the soaps at their own game, that's very satisfying."
