EastEnders bosses have been forced to re-edit a death scene to make it look authentic.

Alsatian Wellard, who departs the soap next month, could still be seen breathing after being given a lethal injection on the show.

The animal is put down by Bianca (Patsy Palmer) after it begins suffering from acute pains.

However, during the pet's final scenes its chest can be seen moving up and down.

A source told The Sun: "Yes, it does look a bit suspect. We will have to do a quick re-edit."

Wellard, who first appeared in 1994, has had several owners, including Robbie Jackson (Dean Gaffney), Gus Smith (Mo George) and Tiffany Dean (Maisie Smith).
