Emma Barton thinks Walford axe was hasty
EastEnders star Emma Barton has insisted that she was axed too hastily by the soap's bosses.

In April, show chiefs confirmed that Barton's character Honey Mitchell would be written out as she had "come to the end of her storyline". However, Emma has claimed that Honey's EastEnders journey is being cut short too soon.

"Despite what they thought, I honestly felt there was more mileage for her," Barton told the Daily Star. "But seeing as they haven't killed her off, I guess there is still a chance she could wander back one day."

Viewers will see Honey pack her bags and leave her husband Billy (Perry Fenwick) after discovering his dark side this week.

"Those scenes were some of my last on the show and I can honestly say that the tears are real," she explained. "I was so upset to be leaving. I have had an amazing time and the thought of not working with Perry any more is heartbreaking."
