Football Factory actor Danny Dyer is reportedly being lined up for a role in BBC soap EastEnders.

The 31-year-old, who played Tommy Johnson in the football hooligan film, recently met with controller of BBC drama production John Yorke to discuss a potential role on the show.

A source told The Sun: "Danny is ideal for EastEnders. He's actually from the East End - and still lives there - and he's got the whole geezer thing going on."

A BBC spokesperson, however, said: "It's very early days. No role has been offered to him."

Dyer's other acting credits include Skins and Hotel Babylon on the small screen, and he more recently appeared in the film Adulthood.
