Syed (Marc Elliott) makes a public declaration of his love for Amira (Preeya Kalidas) during tonight's episode of EastEnders when he proposes in front of the locals in The Vic.
Having spent the previous night with Christian (John Partridge), Syed's finding it difficult to contain his feelings for him. Following a conversation with his mother Zainab (Nina Wadia) in the café, Syed walks away with the words 'be true to yourself' ringing in his ears.
Insisting that he has an announcement to make, Syed arranges for his mother and Christian meet to him in the pub at 6.30pm along with Amira.
When they're all gathered, Syed composes himself in preparation for what he's about to say. Christian's dumbfounded when Syed proposes to Amira instead of 'coming out'.
EastEnders airs tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
