As preparations for Syed (Marc Elliott) and Amira's (Preeya Kalidas) wedding continue, Zainab (Nina Wadia) arranges for the local imam Ali to visit to discuss the meaning of marriage.
Syed quickly becomes uncomfortable with the discussions and abruptly leaves the house to sit in the Square gardens. Completely unaware as to his son's predicament, Masood (Nitin Ganatra) tries to assure Syed that he's doing the right thing.
Returning inside, Syed pledges his future to Amira and promises to be the best husband she could ever have asked for. Christian (John Partridge), however, is furious to see Syed's hypocrisy as he laughs and jokes with the imam.
