Exclusive: Behind the scenes at Garry and Dawn's exit

Next week sees Ricky Groves and Kara Tointon bow out of EastEnders as their characters Garry Hobbs and Dawn Swann take to the high sees and float into the sunset on what's supposed to be their wedding day.

Their big day's far from plain sailing, though.

Without realising that Garry already knows, Dawn prepares to marry while still harbouring her secret affair with Phil (Steve McFadden). The pressure of knowing, however, becomes too much for Garry, who was informed of his bride-to-be's promiscuity on the eve of his wedding by his best friend Minty (Cliff Parisi).

After a showdown with Phil in the Square, Garry heads off alone, but Dawn quickly rushes to the canal in an attempt to stop him from leaving without her.
