Hawkins hopes to revisit Jack, Darren story
Published Thursday, Oct 1 2009, 17:04 BST | By Kris Green
EastEnders actor and self-proclaimed Digital Spy fan Charlie G. Hawkins has expressed his hope that storyliners will revisit his character Darren Miller's dishonourable involvement with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).
Their roles have previously interacted through a couple of dodgy dealings. The most notable saw Darren help Jack elicit a confession from Phil (Steve McFadden) over his cut-and-shut car sales which resulted in Kevin Wicks's death.
Speaking to DS on the red carpet at this year's Inside Soap Awards, Hawkins said: "I don't know what happened to Darren and Jack! I think [the storyliners] call it 'buried treasure' - it's something that we can always go back to and as long as the audience remember that there was a little dealing with Darren and Jack… sometimes they touch on it very discretely in a few scenes."
He added: "We are going to go back to that in the future but it's just on the back burner because I know Jack's got a lot on his plate as well. But you've got to remember, Darren did do a few dodgy deals with Jack that will crop up, I'm sure, in the future."
