The BBC serial fought off heavy competition from Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks in what was a closely fought poll.
Speaking of the soap's win, executive producer Dierderick Santer said: "A massive thank you to everyone on Digital Spy who took the trouble to vote for us. It means a lot to us that we're still your number one soap."
He added: "We never take our audience's loyalty and support for granted and are very grateful for this lovely Christmas gift."
The public vote - in which thousands and thousands of members of the DS community participated - was open between Friday, October 30 and Sunday, December 6.
