Westbrook hopes for 'EastEnders' return

BBC

Danniella Westbrook has claimed that the door is being left open for her to return to EastEnders.

The actress finished filming a three-month stint with the BBC soap late last year, though her character Sam Mitchell has not yet bowed out on screen.

Westbrook's brief return saw her playing the part of Sam for the first time in nine years. However, Kim Medcalf had appeared in the role between 2002 and 2005.

Speaking to The Mirror about Sam's future, Westbrook explained: "I can't reveal how she leaves, so I can't tell you how soon she'll be back, but she's there to come back. As long as there's the Mitchell family, there's room for Mitchells to come in and out, isn't there?

"I loved it, I miss working there, I miss the people and I miss the programme - so we'll see."

The 36-year-old, who is part of the new Dancing On Ice lineup, has previously admitted that she feels she belongs in the Walford show.
